8 volumes with maps and photo illustrations throughout. 8 vols. oblong 8vo.( 12 x 8 ins.), original half brown morocco, gilt. 

A very good set of the "First Series" in the deluxe binding of what is probably the best periodical pictorial account of the war. Using both original art work and official and un-official photographs of all fronts and all aspects of the war are covered - these eight volumes comprise the "first series". The "Second Series" were bound in a upright manner (4to) and were to extend until mid 1918 when the publication died out.
