day-by-day life of a subaltern on the Western Front. The
author served with the Leinster Regiment (2nd Battalion)

He chronicles the part played by the Irish regiment at
most of the major battles from Loos and St. Elois on the
Ypres Salient in 1915 - to the Somme in 1916 and the
attacks on Guillemont and Delville Wood - then back to the
Ypres salient for 1917 and 1918. |
