A fine example - part of the twenty part series - "The Art of the Illustrator"

Percy B. Bradshaw introduces Matania’s methods in constructing his fine large illustrations in "The Sphere" - the technique is then illustrated in six plates which show the progress of the illustration through from the first drawing to the completed picture.

4to. With 48 plates by the author, each with one page of descriptive text. Orig. cloth in the very rare dust wrapper designed by the author - with the dramatic image of a Zeppelin caught in searchlights over London. 

Bradshaw was without doubt one of the best artists of the air warfare of the Great War. A very good copy of one of the great aviation books of the war.

138 pp. with portraits and photos within the adverts., and facsimile dedications from the Patrons tipped in at the front. Full soft red morocco gilt. A fine copy. 

A scarce luxury diary for 1928 produced some ten years since the Armistice by the B.E.S.L. which was set up after the war - "To perpetuate the memory of the gallant men and women who have suffered or died for the Empire". This copy is unused and throughout the calendar anniversaries of actions during the war are noted.
